This is Mark Wallinger‘s “Time and Relative Dimensions in Space 2001″, a life-sized mirrored model of the TARDIS from “Doctor Who,” which at certain angles seems to blend into its environment. It was exhibited at The Hayward Gallery in February 2009.
Shadow Chair by Chris Duffy of Duffy London
At first glance, this chair seems to defy gravity, by standing upright while only having two front legs. It is only on closer inspection that you see that the shadow is part of the chair, and made from steel, which is attached to a metal frame built inside the chair: the chair is resting on its own shadow.
